Today was a GREAT day!

After a Summer of delays for a large number of reasons, Tuesday I received power at my home by some great guys from Entergy who work their asses off, and today I received new AC units two days BEFORE they were supposed to be installed. It now looks like I will be able to live in the upstairs of my home when my kids return from camp on Monday.

My opinion is that Entergy needs to be bailed out quickly from their bankruptcy, as their services are essential for the recovery of the city of New Orleans.

Entergy and wasting an entire day

Today, like many days since the storm, I waited for a promise that wasn’t fulfilled. I was told by Entergy on Friday that they would show up today (Monday), to turn on the power to my home that has been out since Katrina almost a year ago. I waited around my house all day and 3 times during the day I called Entergy (each time they said that they were in the neighborhood and would be there soon). My home has been rewired and the circuit breakers have been replaced. I have 4 days to get my house together before my kids return from summer camp. It doesn’t look like it will happen.
