Basin Street Records in the news…

Basin Street Records in the news…
Reuters posted this story about the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival that includes a few wonderful paragraphs about Basin Street Records (CLICK HERE) by Larry Blumenfeld that appeared in Billboard. The story is being picked up by newspapers and websites all over the world.

Also, check out this story about the our new CD by Irvin Mayfield and Ellis Marsalis that almost didn’t make it without the help of an iPod (CLICK HERE), also by Larry Blumenfeld distributed through Reuters.

This STORY Makes Me SICK

This STORY that just hit the AP makes me sick. Former Governor Blanco…thanks for this freaking mess.

On top of this additional disgrace with the Road Home Program (aka Road to Riches, if you are ICF International or the subcontractors that they hired), many people who took catastrophe losses in 2005 and then received grants in 2007 or 2008 may need to pay taxes on their grants since our US Congress is dragging their feet on Senator Mary Landrieu’s proposal to exempt the grants from taxes. We have been through enough here in New Orleans. Give the people a freaking break.
