Irvin Mayfield Gets Tattoo on Miami Ink on TLC Channel

Watch Irvin Mayfield as he receives his first tattoo on Miami Ink on the TLC Channel tonight at 10pm ET (9pm CT). The cast and crew from Miami Ink visit New Orleans. Listen for music from Basin Street Records in the episode. Irvin Mayfield has released 10 CDs on Basin Street Records including his latest collaboration with Ellis Marsalis entitled “Love Songs, Ballads and Standards”. While in New Orleans the crew also visited Bullet’s Sports Bar on a Tuesday night so they could see Kermit Ruffins.

Dr. Michael White COVER STORY in OffBEAT

Dr. Michael White is the subject of the cover story in the August 2008 issue of OffBEAT Magazine. Dr. White just released Blue Crescent on Basin Street Records. Dr. White will be performing on August 3rd at the Satchmo Summerfest in New Orleans and later in August will be performing at the Bourbon Street Music Club in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In September he will perform in Washington, DC during the festivities where he will be recognized by the NEA as a recipient of the National Heritage Fellowship awards.
