The doves came back this year and had another child. This is the mother and her new child. Why does it take only about 10 days for a baby bird to fly away and over 18 years for a baby human?

Last year 2 doves chose a hanging basket outside of our kitchen for their love basket and had two dove babies. They have returned this year.
