The Rebirth Brass Band! Celebrate with Rebirth at the Maple Leaf Bar on Tuesday, February 14th, 2012 beginning at 8p, and/or at one of 3 free shows February 16, 17, and 18 at the Howlin Wolf.  For more tour dates click HERE.

Rebirth of New Orleans CD was awarded the Grammy for Best Regional Roots Music Album at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards on February 12, 2012 at the Los Angeles Convention Center during the pre-telecast seen on Grammy.com. It is available for viewing for 30 days on the site. The Rebirth also performed their hit “Do It Again” during the pre-telecast starting out in the crowd and making their way to the stage.

This is the first Grammy win for Rebirth and for Basin Street Records. Los Hombres Calientes Vol.3: New Congo Square was BSR’s first nominee 10 years ago.

The Day Is Here! Rebirth at the Grammys

TODAY IS THE DAY! Rebirth Brass Band at the Grammys! They will perform during the Grammy pre-telecast (viewable at Grammy.com) between 1p and 3p PT (3p-5p CT). It is the pre-telecast where nearly 100 of the Grammys are actually presented.  Their CD, Rebirth of New Orleans, is nominated for Best Regional Roots Music Album.  They also perform tonight in Los Angeles at the Echoplex.

2012 Grammy nominee REBIRTH BRASS BAND will perform at the Grammy pre-telecast, broadcast on www.Grammy.com on Sunday afternoon, February 12, 2012. OffBEAT Best of the Beat Awards – Our Winners!

Last night the OffBEAT Best of the Beat Awards were held at Generations Hall in New Orleans.  Thank you to OffBEAT for putting on such a fun event and recognizing Louisiana’s music. Our artists took home the following awards:

Best Brass Band: Rebirth Brass Band

Best Brass Band Album: Rebirth of New Orleans by Rebirth Brass Band

Best Contemporary Jazz Artist: Irvin Mayfield and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra

Best Contemporary Jazz Album: A Love Letter to New Orleans by Irvin Mayfield

Best Trumpeter: Kermit Ruffins

Best Clarinetist: Dr.Michael White

Best Tuba/Sousaphonist: Phil Frazier (Rebirth Brass Band)

At the BUSINESS awards presentation at the Joy Theater on Wednesday, Irvin Mayfield Productions won Music Business of the Year, and Basin Street Records won Best Record Label (for the 7th time.)
